Things people ask us.

What's the difference between advisory and compliance work?
Compliance is the work HMRC and Companies House require — annual accounts, tax returns, VAT, payroll. Advisory is everything that helps you make better decisions: cashflow forecasts, tax planning, growth modelling, structure reviews, sense-checking big purchases or hires. Most accountants only do compliance; we build advisory into Growth and Scale tiers as standard so you have someone to call before making decisions, not just after.
How often do we meet for advisory work?
On Growth tier we have a structured quarterly review covering management accounts, cashflow, tax position and any decisions you're weighing. On Scale tier it's monthly. Between meetings you can email or WhatsApp specific questions and we'll respond within a working day. We deliberately don't bill by the hour for these conversations — the whole point of monthly subscription pricing is that you can pick up the phone without watching the meter.
Can you help with cashflow forecasting?
Yes. We build 13-week rolling cashflow models in Xero or Excel, depending on complexity. The model takes in your sales pipeline, payment terms, recurring costs, VAT, payroll and tax payments to show you the next quarter's bank balance week-by-week. We update it monthly so you can spot pinch points 8-10 weeks ahead rather than 8-10 days ahead.
Do you help with funding applications or business loans?
Yes — we prepare the financial information lenders ask for: 3-year trading history, current management accounts, forward forecasts, and the supporting narrative on assumptions. We don't broker loans, but we work alongside SFEDI brokers, your bank's relationship manager, or alternative lenders (Funding Circle, iwoca, etc.) and we'll be honest about whether you're likely to be approved before you spend time on an application.
Can you advise on selling or buying a business?
We can advise on the financial and tax side — valuation drivers, deal structure tax implications, due diligence support, Entrepreneurs' Relief / Business Asset Disposal Relief, and post-sale tax planning. For corporate finance work above ~£1m enterprise value or international structuring, we cross-refer to our sister firm The Tax Lead (Shamim Bhuiyan FCCA CTA) who handles the heavier deal work.
